FAQ

Am I fit enough for a hike?

You do need to be reasonably fit for a hike with Czech Trek, as hill climbs come with the territory. As your guide I will make sure you are comfortable with the pace and stop as often as you need. My philosophy is to slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature.

If you’re not a regular walker but are keen to get a taste of the Czech countryside, we recommend our Country Stroll.

What do I need to bring?

Comfortable footwear! Don’t worry if you haven’t packed your hiking boots; good walking shoes or running shoes are fine. Bring sunscreen and a hat in summertime, or a rain jacket for wet weather.

You’ll also need to bring water and whatever snacks you need to keep you going through the hike!

Are your hikes suitable for children?

Older children with hiking experience are welcome to come along on our Great Escape and Wilder Side hikes.

If you have younger children we recommend our Country Stroll.

Are your hikes suitable for groups?

We have a maximum group size of 6 people on our standard hikes. If you are travelling with a larger group, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to arrange a custom hike for you.

Can I do these hikes myself without a guide?

Absolutely. The Czech landscape is very accessible. You can find maps of trails at mapy.cz (in the top left corner of the page click, “Change map” and select “Tourist” for hiking trails). For transport connections, see idos.cz

I have more questions!

You’ll find answers to hike-specific questions beneath the details of our Great Escape, Wilder Side and Country Stroll hikes.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for there, feel free to get in touch with us. We love hearing from you!
